Aunt Pat (my dad's sister) and I took the kids to a ship-themed park near the marina in Morro Bay.
Maggie was proud of herself for climbing up and down these posts - which were much taller than they look. There's Morro Rock in the background, if you didn't know.
Then we went shell-hunting amid the rocks on the beach at Spooner's Cover in Montana de Oro. I camped here with my mom once or twice in high school and loved this little beach.
I got a rock!
Here's a close-up of the "sand" on this beach.
With Aunt Pat at the Cove.
Uncle Garry and "Little D". This is one of my dad's brothers, who reminded us of people calling my Grandpa Dalton "Mr. D." In the background, you can just see a picture of my dad and his siblings. That's my dad on the left, then Aunt Pat.
Elephant seals at Piedras Blancas.
Really a lot of elephant seals at Piedras Blancas.
Here's one of the males (with his elephant proboscis) scooting along in the sand.
After lunch we went to Morro Rock beach and found dozens of sand dollars.
