Sledding Again

Since the valley is sadly lacking in snow, we headed up to the cabin on Saturday for some more sled runs.

The snow was really powdery - this was the best snowman we could get.

My angel making a snow angel.

Playtime

We got this book (Thump, Quack, Moo) from the library today, but hadn't read it yet.  She was flipping through it in the other room and excitedly brought it in to show me: "Mom, look what's in this book!  A duck Buddha!"  I'm not sure whether to be proud of her or dismayed at myself!

Now, this is a game I can get along with - Library!  She lays out books on Dalton's bed and we "buy" one and read it.  Today she even held storytime for Dalton and I.  She read two books to us and did an "activity".

When I asked Maggie what her stuffed animals were doing she answered, "They're playing 'North Pole."  Pulling Santa's sleigh, of course.

Maggie (and Dalton) went on a field trip to the grocery store!

A "pirate pizza".

A gift! Doesn't she look so sweet offering it to me? (and every other adult who's been in our house this week.)  It's a banana peel.

There are lots of playtime pictures on my camera, including with these John took of his Lego creations.

Candy Corn Girl & Diaper Boy

The kids made superhero capes at the library story time a couple weeks ago. They were a big hit, and I am an awesome mom because I let them wear them to Target.  At first Maggie wanted to be "Heroman" but then she settled on Candy Corn Girl after her necklace.  She named Dalton Diaper Boy.

While I was changing the sheets, Maggie set up a "trail" of pillows from one end of my room all the way down the hallway and around the corner.  It was really more of a runway while she tried to learn how to fly.

Yikes!

Post-cry peek-a-boo behind Valentine's Day M&Ms left Dalton with red tears.  Seriously scary.

And, because you can never have too many pictures of your children being naughty.

Happy Valentine's Day to Rachel (and More Videos)

Apparently, Rach, we ARE making you a Valentine's Day card.  This video also showcases Dalton saying "kitty" ("teeny") which I love.

And here are some videos I took last month after our trip to Disneyland.

Valentine's Day Kids' Crafts

In addition to the heart garland I made, we've done a few Valentine's kids crafts.  If you're looking for more kids' craft ideas for Valentine's Day, be sure to check out all the ones we did last year! You can see all the Valentine Crafts under "Homemade Valentine's Day."

Glitter Playdough

Mini Heart Pizzas

I folded some paper and drew half-hearts and let Maggie cut them out. She's a pro with scissors now.  Then I wrote "I love" and let her write different things she loves with pink marker.  We stuck them on her bedroom door to decorate.

Heart Bag Toppers for Maggie's Heart-a-Saurus Valentines.  She wrote all the names on them herself. (I'm having trouble with Blogger rotating (or unrotating) my photos.  I turned off auto-rotate on my camera and now Blogger is rotating a picture that was taken horizontally! I give up.)

M-I-C-K-E-Y

How cute is this Mickey Mouse drawing Maggie did a couple weeks ago?

Monkey or 2 Year Old?

I caught Dalton climbing in the pantry the other day.

Then yesterday, John found him pushing a chair over from the table so he could climb onto the counter to reach the snack cupboard.

A little naughty, I think.  Proof? For more posts on Dalton climbing on stuff see:

ETA: While I was writing this blog (seriously), I heard the sound of the chain being taken off the front door. You know, the chain that keeps naughty toddlers from opening the front door?

I think somebody wants to go for a walk and since it's up to 40 outside, I'll oblige him. Excuse me.

Valentine's Day Crafty Night

My cousin Jill came over this week and we got our Valentine's Day craft on.  Dalton helped.

Jill made a pleated heart pillow.

I made these heart cut-out garlands.

Pretzelfest & Twin Cousins: Next Generation

Last Saturday, most of the ladies in our family got together at our house to learn how to make pretzels.  Here I am with my kids and four of my darling nieces.

The rest of this post is about my other darling niece!

Dalton and Kyli sat on the front porch waving goodbye to everyone.  Aren't they adorable?

And maybe a little silly?
