Snow Summit HIke
We took the chair lift at Snow Summit to hike around the mountain at the top.
The kids did GREAT hiking. I carried Sienna almost the entire time (she was happy to snuggle as she refused to sleep the entire trip), and Dalton only complained a bit at the end.
We found lots of rocks to climb which led to the proclamation, "Best hike ever!"
View from the top.
Big Bear Alpine Slide
This was not the biggest or the best alpine slide I've ever been on, but it was fun, especially to take Sienna for the first time, and for Maggie to do it by herself. Maggie also had to go on the lift by herself. Eek.
Before (just because John left her to take the picture)
After
We also did go-karts.
I think this was my first time doing go-karts. It's more fun than it looks.
On our way out of town we stopped for a couple more slides.
Big Bear Discovery Center
The (free) Discovery Center at Big Bear Lake had tons of fun activities for the kids. There were dead animals to pet, coloring pages, phosfluorescent stones, live animals to look at, a 1/2 mile nature loop and a big outdoor play/explore area.
Sienna became very interested in rocks on this trip.
The kids panned for gold. For $3 each, they got to fill a little vial with the gold they found and wear it around their necks (see further pictures of Dalton on this trip).
