Christmas Dress

I made Maggie a quick Christmas dress, using the third style on my Simplicity 5695 pattern. This is the same fabric as my maternity skirt and Rachel's latest dress. I've still got yards of this fabric, so more to come, I'm sure.I took a few inches off the bottom of the dress to make it more of a party dress. I also added a yard and a half of velvet ribbon at the bottom of the bodice, to use as a sash.
She loves it - just now when I tried it on for pictures she said, "I'm wearing this, like Santa!"

Appliqued Onesies

I finished up decorating some plain white onesies we bought for Dalton - had to hurry and do it before he grew out of them! I got the idea for the argyle one from MADE. The other ones use clipart, or pictures from freeapplique.com.
For the appliques, I traced the pattern on the paper side of some Wonder Under, which you buy in the interfacing section, FYI. Then I cut it out, ironed it onto the wrong side of the fabric, then cut that out. Then I peeled off the paper and ironed it onto the onesie. Then I zigzag-ed around the edge of the designs.
For the argyle onesie, I cut diamonds from felt and stitched them on with a straight stitch. Then I embroidered the other diamonds. I should have drawn lines with a fabric pen first, because it's a little crooked.

O Christmas Tree

When I posted about the tree skirt I made, I realized I never put up a picture of our tree last year. So here you go.

The Third Day of Christmas

Today's activity was actually "Open a Present" - I bought 2 sticker books and two puzzles, all Christmas and Pooh/Peanuts themed, for 50 cents each at Walgreens. But this made much more fun pictures! And she has three more Open a Present days. We bought a Very Big Christmas present today, so we made some wrapping paper to wrap it in. We colored on packing paper, each sheet has a different holiday theme. I think my Rudolphs and Maggie's Christmas tree (middle far right) are especially cute.Here is Maggie adding some last minute silk hats to my snowmen.

The Second Day of Christmas

We decorated bags for our neighbor gifts. Look at the adorable snowman she drew, with buttons, a hat, feet, and a blue snowflake.
