Last Day in Portland

Last day in Oregon. We drove back to Portland from the coast, stopping at Tillamook again.

We went back to Washington Park and found the children's playground.  Caught this Maggie photobomb while taking a pic of the other kids.

We stayed at the the Mark Spencer Hotel downtown, which was lovely, but the suite was just a big room and we all slept TERRIBLY.

More food trucks, more Voodoo Doughnuts, and then back home!

Oregon Coast: Yaquima Head, Newport and Lincoln City

We drove down to Newport, Oregon, stopping at the Yaquima Head lighthouse along the way.

Kids watched some men catch crabs, and then we took some awful selfies before a lady took pity on us.

Then we drove up the opposite direction for kite flying and beach fun with cousins one last time. They stayed in a condo right on the beach in Lincoln City.

Oregon Coast: Otter Rock and Devil's Punchbowl

Our beach house was in between two beach, traditionally beachy Beverly State Beach, and rocky (and sea glassy!) Otter Rock. In between those was the Devil's Punchbowl, and the tide did in fact go out far enough (hundreds of feet) to connect the two if you climbed through the punchbowl and around.

4th of July sparklers.

The house was so roomy, it was perfect for our stay.

Kids helped me find some sea glass. I went down at every low tide, after we discovered how easy it was to find.

Oregon Trail: Tillamook Forest Center and Cheese Factory

On Sunday we drove to the Oregon Coast, stopping at the Tillamook Forest Center for some fairy house lessons from Mr. Lichenbeard.

A very fun and free place to stop along the way.

And at Tillamook Cheese Factory for ice cream, grilled cheese, and cheese samples.
