Stop and Touch the Flowers
I try to remember to say YES when I can, and how much those little things can add up to more than the NOs I have to say. Dalton wanted to park on the roof of the parking structure when we went to the mall. As you can see, we are the only people with that brilliant idea.
A few extra minutes on the way to school lets us take time to look at the flowers, or dawdle, or even go out of our way for a quick trip down the slide.
Here's to saying yes and being a parent in the small moments.
Home Preschool: St. Patrick's Day Activities
I threw together a St. Patrick's Day preschool activity with whatever I could find at Target.
We made collage rainbows. I cut strips of paper for the kids to cut into squares and glue on. They also added some cotton ball clouds.
They made their own Rainbow Treats. I used plastic pretzel bags (from the party/wedding section). They put in gold Dove treats, rainbow Twizzlers and a few marshmallows for clouds.
They also got some gold shamrock bling.
Here are the completed collages and treat bags.
We did green pepper shamrock stamping.
I also had Dalton sort out the marshmallows from the Lucky Charms cup and count each kind. Here's a bonus picture of him playing with glitter glue later that day. The glitter glue was worth every penny.
Here are the Home Preschool St. Patrick's Day activities I did with Maggie a couple years ago.

Sassy and Seven
Happy Birthday, Maggie!
In your seventh year you grew tall and brave.
You fought the Dark Side.
You climbed mountains.
You swam in your first race.
Your extraordinary personality shone on.
You learned how to boogie board.
You started First Grade.
You lost your first tooth... and your second.
You insisted on being an owl when everyone else matched, and you were the cutest owl there ever was.
You learned how to play soccer (but mostly skipped around the field).
You climbed to the top.
You completed 1 year of gymnastics and learned how to cartwheel.
You became even more sweet and kind.
And a whole lot more silly.
To another wonderful year!
