Dalton Be Nimble

At around Dalton's age, Maggie would ask us to "Ben Bo" or "lie down" with her when she went to sleep at night. So when she saw Dalton doing this in the car, and said, "Dalton is Ben Bo-ing" I laughed and told her the story of baby Maggie.

But apparently she was saying "Dalton is limbo-ing." Indeed. Those are Fruit Stripe gum zebra "tattoos" on Dalton's hands.

Prolific

Button Turkey

Thanksgiving already? I'm way early, but I got an itch to sew something and the button turkey I saw at Counting Coconuts has been on my list for a while.
Maggie helped pick out the colors, and the kids colored (a lot) while I sewed him. I blanket-stitched two layers of felt for the feathers, and whip-stitched the turkey face onto the body. We did a light-colored turkey, because our neighborhood turkey is white. No, really.
Maggie is learning the new skill of buttoning. None of her clothes require this, but she'll be getting a new wardrobe in a couple months.
She was very pleased with her first successful button!

India Misc.

Love this house. Looking above from my friend's balcony. This little cement shack with a tin roof and a satellite dish. Goats and dogs in the yard. The woman washing dishes on a rock (no running water).
I've seen these buses a few times and I don't get it. Do they know they have the colors labeled wrong?
Maggie and her friend riding bikes on the roof.

Dalton and the Blade

Dalton got another hair cut yesterday.
He cried, at least until I sat him in the chair. Then he tried to wipe his runny nose with the cape.
Maggie didn't like the street noise.
Straight razor. Brave mama. You can see it in the mirror.
