Front Yard

Here are some pics of the plants we've planted in the front yard, in full "bloom". John picked these out. We have blue fescue, and green and red fountain grass. Not sure what the one in the very front is called. They have grown a lot since we planted them, especially the red fountain grass! You can also see Maggie chasing the neighbor's dog to "et him?"
Excuse our poor dead spot. We are still working on adjusting the sprinklers. It's much better than last year.
And my cute family.

Under the Sun

As you can see, the daffodils I thought I planted never appeared, but my $4 tulip and hyacinth bulbs bloomed beautifully. John was pleased to hear that bulbs not only return year after year but multiply.

October Garden

I staked my tomato plant today.

Not this one.

This one.

We think maybe the sun has moved south enough for the winter that now my plant is getting the sun it needs. Hopefully I will get more than one yummy tomato before frost comes!

Yellow Thumb

At last my garden is actually growing. Most of it anyway - none of my herbs came up, even the second time I tried. It seems friends around the country are already eating from their gardens, and I think my plants are still the smallest around. Oh well. Eventually.Row of beans with the squash in the background.
little squash plants
Two happy zucchini.
