Germs & Ponies

Baby boy was sick this week and spent quality time snuggling his mama.

And taking pictures of me.  Where did he learn to hold the camera up to his eye?  I'm not even sure my camera has a viewfinder.

We also went to the farm.

Here is Cowgirl Maggie all the way across the way, on the second biggest pony. Next time she's going to ride the biggest one, she says, which is taller than I am.

Utah Jazz vs. Disney on Ice

Here are some pictures from Maggie's actual birthday.  She got a "new" bike (we still have to get her a helmet, so we just tried it out inside).

And a colors dominos game from Aunt Rachel.

Daddy and Maggie went to see Toy Story 3 Disney on Ice.  Maggie didn't love it, so we definitely won't be spending money on something like this again.

Her favorite part was Mickey and Minnie.

My favorite part was the tickets John brought home: Utah Jazz vs. Disney on Ice.

Dinosaur Birthday Party

Thursday was Maggie's 5th birthday party. She wanted a dinosaur party, of course!  She did a lot of the work herself.   I posted more dinosaur party details on Mommysavers, but I wanted to share some fun friend photos on our blog as well.  We started with dinosaur egg invitations.

We also made dinosaur egg toppers for the dinosaur egg fossil favors.  We used our homemade rock dough recipe, and hid plastic dinosaurs in each egg.  Maggie made most of the eggs herself.

She decorated the cake all by herself.  My aunt Sharon just helped by putting frosting on the Hershey's kiss spikes.

Friends came. All of the girls (including the 2 not pictured) were wearing pink!

We had a dinosaur dig with wood shavings and a baby pool. It wasn't nearly the mess I thought it was going to be.

The little ones especially loved it.

The kids made "fossils" with the dinosaurs they found.  Thanks to Sharon for pre-making all the clay shapes, and Jill for manning this station.

There was lots of time for dinosaur play, and reading dinosaur books from the library.  Thanks to Tasha for reading every dinosaur book with less than 1,000 words.

Everyone but Madeline wore their birthday hats the entire time.

We made a homemade dinosaur egg pinata.  Well, I made a homemade dinosaur egg pinata, and the kids painted the spots on it.  Maggie did yellow and Dalton did green, in case you couldn't tell.

Instead of gifts, we did a book exchange! A brilliant idea, if I do say so myself.  Instead of 5 new toys or something else we don't need, we got two new books.

I planned lunch because two of the kids had preschool right after.  We served dino chicken nuggets, pretzel sticks and rods, and spinach leaves.  Thanks again to Jill and Sharon for getting the lunch all ready! Seriously, I had awesome helpers, and they came out of nowhere. =)

After church we had a bit of lazy time.

Sunday Celebrations

A birthday party for Hannah and Maggie.  Do "Barbie Legos" make Uncle Dave want to shoot himself?  Let's hope not.  Also, notice the "taco" birthday card on his lap, made by Mary.

I love that the boys came over to check out the latest Lego set, even though it was in a purple box.

Grandpa got bullied (by cuteness) into some sort of crawling game.

Mischief Managed

What's that?  It's Maggie's birthday money.

Behind the heater intake vent. Which took me 10 minutes to remove. And 5 minutes to vacuum out. We also found a dime.  Culprit on the dime is unknown, but it's safe to say Maggie didn't put her own birthday money behind the wall. Besides, when I asked Dalton where it was, he went right to it.

Real Snow

We finally got our first real snow.  In March.  Then, it showed again the next day! Now it is melting down, hopefully in time to have Maggie's birthday party outside on Thursday!  We built a huge snowman in the backyard. At least it felt huge.
