Travel Crib Sheet

I made a sheet for our pack-n-play mattress using 1 yard of cheap-o flannel from Walmart and a bit of elastic. It was easy to make, and would have been easier still if I had noticed I was cutting 6" squares off the corners instead of 4"... Also, the fabric I bought was not 45" wide, but it is plenty big. Problem solved for $3.

Cabin Party

We went to the cabin association's party today. Besides dinner, there was a "train" ride (we went all five times they did it) and a soft-serve ice cream machine. Nathan, James, and Hannah were also there, and Maggie did her best to wear out her Grandpa and Uncle Nathan playing horsie.

Pantry Love

John and I went to Wal-mart today and spent $245 of his bonus money stocking up on food - two grocery carts full. I should have taken "before" pictures. We updated our 72-hour kits and filled up our pantry and our basement shelf. I am so happy!

Campfire Girl

We bought Maggie this little igloo tent from IKEA when we got our office furniture. She has a Fisher Price camping set from Brook and Erin that goes perfectly with it.
Here she is roasting marshmallows and a hot dog...
And chopping wood for a fire (Ember must have shown her that).

Riding a Pony

We went to the farm today, which Maggie has been looking forward to all week. Here she is dancing in the dance hall...
In jail with Ethan...
And "biding a boeby".
(See the new white t-shirt I made?)
She also fed the horses out of her hand, but I was too busy making sure she didn't get bit to take a picture.

Happy Face

Maggie is practicing drawing her circles. I saw she had drawn a circle with what looked like a smile, so I said, "happy face!" and helped her draw some eyes by showing her where to put them. Then she wanted to add a nose and toes. The toes are the line under the smile.

Front Yard

Here are some pics of the plants we've planted in the front yard, in full "bloom". John picked these out. We have blue fescue, and green and red fountain grass. Not sure what the one in the very front is called. They have grown a lot since we planted them, especially the red fountain grass! You can also see Maggie chasing the neighbor's dog to "et him?"
Excuse our poor dead spot. We are still working on adjusting the sprinklers. It's much better than last year.
And my cute family.
