Donuts and Corn

We had a day filled with fun today. In the morning we went on the ward hike to Donut Falls. An easy hike (great since we had to carry Maggie) and a terrific ward activity.
One nice picture before the batteries died.
In the afternoon we met Tyler, Tasha and Colette at the corn maze. We got in for $1 each, conquered the corn maze in 20 minutes thanks to John, and had tons of fun doing the other activities.
Riding the cow train (see Colette behind us). Our cow's head was missing.

Dress up like a princess and ride in the carriage... or on the horse.

And this is what we did all afternoon.

Our Family

We got picture frames a few months ago... and eventually pictures to put in them. Today I brought home some "Family" letters Jamie didn't want anymore and John completed the long-naked wall in our front room. Thanks, Jamie!

Crocheted Fortune Cookie

I made this little guy to sneak into John's computer bag. I hope he found it!

This was very easy to make. I made a magic loop, then did three rows without joining rounds: DC 12 in loop and draw up, DC 24 (2 in each stitch) and DC 36 (2 in every other stitch). Then I folded the cookie in half, stitched the edges together most of the way around (gotta leave room for the fortune!) and stitched the folded edge to itself halfway down. Voila!

Crocheted Sweets

Over the past few weeks I've spent a bit of time crocheting. I made some fake food for Maggie to play with. I think fake food is the most fabulous of toys, but all Maggie has is half a lemon and a stick of butter. Seriously. So I made a frosted donut, a strawberry ice cream cone and two Oreos. I'm especially proud of the frosted donut (with sprinkles!). More to come.

Oops, I forgot to post the patterns I used. Here they are:
Crocheted ice cream cone
Crocheted Oreos
Crocheted frosted donut (This one wants me to sign in to view it, but I didn't have to before. Luckily I wrote it down, I guess.)

Here is a great site which helped me find these patterns:

More Quack Moo

The other day I asked Miss Maggie to blow her Aunt Rachel a kiss (over Gmail Chat, of course). It was so cute (as described to Rachel by me) that Rachel threatened to buy me a video cam for my birthday, so I took a video on my digital instead.

Here is Maggie showing off some of the signs she knows, including some made-up Wiggles-based ones (a duck flapping it's arms, which used to be "quack" and has now become all birds). She also makes some animal sounds and blows a big kiss just for Rachel. I haven't taught her how to blow kisses, so this is what we get when I don't model it for her.

Cabin Cutie

Erin sent me these pictures she took at the cabin on Sunday. They really capture Maggie's personality. Further proof that a) Erin is amazing, b) my daughter is completely adorable, and c) Ember is one of Maggie's favorite people. After Aunt Erin. Maybe.

Maggie getting the attention she loves from her cousins.

"It wasn't me!"

So cute - and she knows it.

This is a really cute picture - I love the faces everyone is making.

Jamie's Wedding

Here are a few pictures from Jamie and Dave's wedding on Saturday. I was not in charge of my camera, or there might be a picture of the bride and groom together.

Sisters being silly.

Maggie survived the event thanks to her helpful cousins pushing her around in the stroller. And a lot of Cheerios.

Me and my cute sisters-in-law. Too bad Erin couldn't be there!

Maggie being entertained by her grandpa, her new cousin Sabrina, and the temple grounds' flowers.
